Notes from Pastor Joshua

“He has saved us and called us to a holy life–not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace” ~2 Tim 1:9

Well it’s finally here! I’m struggling to find the right words to express my excitement and jubilation for our first worship service at Christ Methodist Church this Sunday! God in His surprising abundance has been opening doors, securing provisions through generous supporters, and preparing hearts for this very special moment. To say we are stoked to see God glorified and many united in worship this Sunday would be a gross understatement! We cannot wait to share in the experience with each of you and your families as we join together this Sunday at 10:30am at the Hendersonville Seventh Day Adventist Church (118 Anderson Lane).

This Sunday, we will examine our first church-wide value of being “called.” God’s Word assures us that God has called each of us to a life of purpose, adoption and glory. Through humility, we acknowledge that this calling has little to do with our worthiness and much more to do with God’s grace and purposes. I don’t know about you, but as I ponder the excitement of being a part of what God is doing at Christ Methodist Church this message strikes profound significance. To be a part of God’s story is a profound mystery that is beyond our understanding or deserving. Join us as we explore together what it means to be called by God for a life of purpose, adoption and glory that is far beyond all that we could ask or imagine!

As we prepare our hearts for Sunday, we’d invite each of you to also join our Transitional Leadership Team in prayer each day at 1:18pm (118 being the address of the Church) and to fast with us this coming Saturday (November 11), for a period of additional prayer, if able. Let’s join together in praying for God to direct our path from our very first steps as a new faith community, for Christ to be glorified in our opening worship and for many new brothers and sisters to sense God’s drawing into the folds of His saving grace.

Soli Deo Gloria,

   ~Pastor Joshua Strader
